Controlling GG Sonar with Dot X
You can control GG Sonar using Dot X by using the "Output" selection under "System Utilities". It works by controlling the GG Sonar output devices that are made available by the GG Sonar software.
Note
This does not work if the GG Sonar application has "Streamer mode" enabled. This is likely because of how the streamer mode handles the output devices as manipulating them directly does not affect the GG Sonar applicaion.
Setting up GG Sonar for Dot X
Make sure the GG Sonar application is installed and running on your computer.
To control the different output devices, open the configuration menu for the slider you wish to configure.
Go to "System Utilities" and enable the "Output" option. Scroll down to see all the available output devices in the list.
Important!
Make sure you deselect the default output option when you enable the output control. The default output will always be automatically selected when enabling the output control for a slider. Untick this before selecting the GG Sonar output device you want to control.
Now you can choose the GG Sonar output device you want to control with the slider. The GG Sonar software output devices are named as follows
- SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming
- SteelSeries Sonar - Chat
- SteelSeries Sonar - Aux
- SteelSeries Sonar - Microphone
- SteelSeries Sonar - Media
Repeat this process for all the sliders you want to control GG Sonar with.
Controlling the Dot X sliders will now control the GG Sonar output devices and will be reflected in the GG Sonar application.
If you wish to give the Dot X labels for your sliders a more intuitive name, you can follow the guide on Customizing Dot X Labels to change the labels to something more descriptive like "GG Media" or "GG Chat".
